pumpkin bread with cream cheese swirl

did you think you were reading the wrong blog? a recipe? 

i mean… how do you feel about the name of this bread? really, really good? can you picture giada de laurentiis saying it? with her perfectly white teeth and red lipstick. what is it with the way she speaks about food?

anyways, i can't handle the name either. but, i can definitely handle the bread. it speaks all of my love languages, the primary one being cream cheese. the recipe comes from - i clearly do not create recipes. 

pumpkin bread with cream cheese swirl

filling, also known as: swirly goodness
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla 

1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/4 cup(s) pumpkin puree
1/2 cup canola oil
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar

this will make two loaves. no one uses recipes that make one loaf anymore. 

preheat oven to 325, and grease and flour your pans (dishes? i am novice).  

mix filling ingredients until smooth and set aside. i actually think i might double this next time. and i'm not kidding. 

 mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg together and set aside. in another bowl mix pumpkin, oil, eggs and sugar. blend pumpkin mixture and flour mixture together. 

pour bread batter into your pans and then pour cream cheese mixture on top of that. use a fork to mix the cream cheese layer into the pumpkin mixture, creating those delectable (how's that adjective for ya?) swirls.

bake 55 to 60 minutes. 

give one loaf to your parents and eat the other one so quickly that you can't even photograph it with a real camera.
