story's room

haaaaaaay.

remember that time about two months ago when i was going into story's room to take some pictures and share them with you all and found mold on her wall? and then remember how we had to move her back into our room, and my husband had to tear down her walls, rip up her carpet, empty our basement, re-do bilco doors, and a million other things? and remember how that cost thousands of dollars?

oh okay, just checking.

superman has put it all back together for me. and, yes, i did cry when taking it apart becasue it felt like it was so perfect for her sweet self and then all this happened.

well… boom. just like that the nursery is back and better than ever.

please enjoy the major photo overload of majorly over exposed pictures:

as for mentioned, the lighting and quality of these photos are a little wonky due to lack of natural light. she just has the one itty bitty window in her room. the walls are a light & soft peach. there is also no closet in here but that little cubby hole is holding four big totes of bigger sized clothes. to make the most use of space i have little baskets under her dresser and crib filled with diapers, wipes, burp clothes, hats, little toys, etc.

here's the break-it-down:

crib: craiglist. $30! bought white and painted yellow a little bit at a time every night for a week straight by my selfless husband. i know you secretly love painting all those spindle-y things, honey.

poms & paper lanterns: prost to the host & amazon

yellow circle garland: glitter and grain

story's beautiful quilt: for the love designs

crib skirt: made by my mom.

little curtain covering random cubby hole in the wall: made by my mom.

curtains: urban outfitters.

… glorious, glorious hoop art…

all is well, yo yo flowers & you are my sunshine hoops: blossom & vine

S, fill my heart with song, birds, little hearts, kite & small flower hoops: beautiful blendings

let her sleep... hoop: bo peep baby

story kate & rise and shine hoops: take the cannoli

wreath: made by me. my very wreath that was featured in stitch craft create!

mirror (i am told this is called a butler): garage sale! $3. spray painted, obvi.

little pom pom garland on crib: the gilded bee. don't get your panties in a wad, i will be taking it down when shecan reach/pull/have any skill that could make her touch it. which is like tomorrow.

flower canvas paintings: pen and paint

tell me what it is... print: katie daisy

you are beautiful print: gift from heather, dazey chic

it's a brand new day print: dazey chic

girl with umbrella print: the little illustrator

la la love you print: sparkle power

chair: gift from my mama, amazon
(this was $79 with free shipping when my mom purchased it, it's now $118. so, if you're wanting to purchase one, you might want to wait a bit as the price fluctuates a lot)

mustard blanket on the back of chair: made by my mother-in-law. i saw one i loved on pinterest just like that and she re-created it for me.

story name pillow: for the love of joy
the verse i chose to go on her pillow is esther 4:14 "and who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"

yarn s: made by my mom. told you she was martha stewart.

dresser: thrifted

stuffed fox & owl: i sew lucky

stuffed elephant: sarah's pachyderm friends

stuffed hedgehog: see kate sew

felt stag taxidermy (can you even handle it? order one right now): squack doodle

somewhere over the rainbow print: art by erin leigh

tea pot: target a couple years back, from their liberty of london line.

yellow s: michael's

little milk pitcher: was my great grandmas

green rainboots: were the boys'

little yellow shelf for headbands: thrifted

mmkay. i am probably forgetting things but, you all have got quite the list of links to click on, and i have got quite the pile of laudnry to fold.

happy wednesday!

    1. hi jessica! thank you so much! we (and when i say we, i mean *he* my husband :)) put little tiny hooks into the ceiling and i sat on the floor and told him where i wanted to them be, how high or low, move it back or forward, etc :) we tied them with fishing line, and then draped the yellow circle garland through :)

please do copy away … every person should have a gathering of poms and lanterns over their bed!

      here's what we did:
caleb put little tiny hooks into the ceiling and i sat on the floor and told him where i wanted to them be, how high or low, move it back or forward, etc ...we tied them to the hooks with clear fishing line, and then draped the yellow circle garland through once all the poms were up. let me know if you have any other questions!!
