as i am writing this, there are only 31 books left on the amazon.com list for my 25th birthday giveaway for the joyful life library. if you haven't purchased any yet and have been wanting to, today is the last day. let's get those last 31 books bought and into the hands of families and children in the PICU at riley hospital for children.

foster has massive feet. they are wide and they are thick. do any of you mamas have babies with thick feet? he's walking and not turning back now so i am in need of at least one pair of sneakers that are both wide and thick. what are thick shoes? i am not sure. but that is what i need. he seriously has an extra inch or so of squishy lovey baby chub on top of his feet and he walks like frankenstein. love that boy.

  1. Not that my son is anywhere near ready to potty train but I'm totally intimidated by it and will probably avoid it like the plague. You'll have to let me know how it goes (eventually) :)

  3. HOORAY for joyful books!
my little boy had thick 'n huge footies until just a few months ago. he has thinned out and gotten tall-his feet are "normal" now. we found that pediped shoes were great(tons of styles), and children's place boots(their other shoes are skinny)-not the cheapest, but comfy-although cp has rad sales and online specials! last summer, we did have one pair of skater looking shoes we picked up at target. good luck! xo also, i love fatty baby feet;)

  6. Hey Danielle, ok two things - my baby has thick wide feet too! Sketchers seem to be good. I got some at kohls for cheap. And I don't know if you have a store called stride rite where you live but most of their shoes are made for really wide feet. Second thing - have you read about the 3 day potty training method? I thought it sounded crazy when I read about it but some friends of mine swear by it and said they had way less trouble potty training than their friends who tried different approaches. Hope that helps!

  7. He has the same feet as my son! We love stride rite shoes. They are expensive, but they fit well and wear well. We use tie shoes on my son because he hated how tight the velcro was across the top of his foot.

Don't worry about the training. He'll get it! If you need to quit for now, do it! :)

  8. I almost forgot, thanks for the reminder! In other news, i got a penny-sized droplet of poop in the toilet yesterday! The first one!! Progress, I'd say. But pottytraining is boring.

  11. DON'T GIVE UP! I've potty trained FIVE kiddos and I promise you consistency is key! He'll get it soon! Hang in there!
My oldest boy has those thick, wide feet too. I think his Skechers fit best but we've also been able to get his feet into some Target shoes and New Balance tennies too.

  15. My nephew had balls for feet and he wore striderite shoes successfully.

I am so glad the book drive is going well. I got shipment confirmation from amazon last night! I was able to pick up a few books for charity at the Boston airport today on the way home. They have two programs - one for the impoverished and one for children in hospitals. Books are such an awesome way to give!!

    Xoxo

  17. Don't give up girl! You can totally do this! The first few days are always the toughest (we had sooooooo many accidents at first). Then you have some little victories here and there.

We read LOTS of books while waiting for tiny dribbles ;)

  18. rylan has huge feet!! converse fit him the best. and they look super cute too!

  19. Both my boys had super chubby piggies & feet when they were smaller. The best shoes I could find were "See Kai Run," "Pedipeds," "Toms," or "Converse." Now their feet are not as chubby but still have high insteps so they still wear those brands. Good Luck!

  21. lol, my 4th has weirdly small feet, I'm not sure how she'll ever learn to walk on those!
and PS, I'm trying to stop picking my nose, so thanks for bringing it up ;)

  22. Jack has fat thick feet too! I have a really hard time finding shoes he can squeeze more than his toes into. I did find some really cute Chucks that are cat in the hat on Amazon (that were way cheaper than converse.com wants to sell them to you for) and the lace up instead of the velcro or slip on. They are sized a little big so prepare for that. But really too cute!

  23. Good luck on the potty training! I'm curious to see how it goes..
I thought about starting to, cause the weather is really nice right now (here in the Netherlands anyway)
But i haven't found the courage yet..
    Diapers are the bomb!
