cinnamon bread

it's been a while since i shared a recipe on this little blog. so, i figured i better break out the big guns. as in, the best-ever-secret-family (i might be making that part up) cinnamon bread.

ingredients:
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk, soured with 2 teaspoons vinegar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour

directions:
mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together and set aside. mix butter and sugar together, add eggs. then add sour milk and vanilla. combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda together; add to first mixture. pour half of the batter into a loaf pan . sprinkle with half the cinnamon mixture, swirl in with a fork, pour remaining batter and stir remaining cinnamon and sugar in with a fork. bake @ 350 for about an hour.

  1. I was just searching around last night for a good cinnamon muffin recipe and I couldn't find anything. I think this will definitely satisfy my craving. Yum!!

  3. no, you're totally not making it up about being the best-ever-family secret recipe!! i have had that bread, and have wanted the recipe ever since!!! so so glad you posted it!! might need to go home and make it right now... or at least when i'm done w/ work... :)
