the kitchen: transformed

our kitchen is not donedone but after an email or two of wanting to see the house i figured i should show ya'll something. it's getting there....and since we've only been in our house this short amount of time i feel extremely good about the state that it is in. my husband is a miracle worker and turned this place upside down. take a look for yourself.

aren't the dancing chef men, halfway ripped off sunflower border and vineyard inspired tiles just DARLING?

let's just put that in perspective once more:

the yardstick backsplash was not our idea, but at a whopping $40 total and quirkiness up the wazoo, it could not be passed up. yardstick backsplash inspiration and yardstick backsplash tutorial. we changed a few things up from the tutorial by nailing, rather than gluing, and then filling in the holes. and, by we i clearly mean the hubs. i had to talk my husband into even doing it but, we all know he could never really say no.

so what do you think?

more photos to come, and i couldn't reveal the living room half just yet. let's be honest, i have two boys tearing up the place, as i type this very word.

happy weekending!
